When Summerour and Hoyle sailed for England in 1964 for a year of study at Newbold College, they planned to continue their musical collaboration as a duo.4Vollmer had learned about the trip from Hoyle and decided at the last minute to join them. The three men started to sing American folk music and arrangements of spirituals and other religious music to the delight of both students and faculty at the college. Vollmer, wanting to do more than just sing, took a crash course in playing the guitar from Summerour, who, in addition to playing the banjo, was also a skilled guitarist. Dan Shultz, emeritus professor of music, Walla Walla University, has researched and written extensively about Seventh-day Adventist music history and musicians.
It consists of a weekly group rehearsal where kids and teens learn by playing rock music's most iconic songs with a band composed of their peers. Students are assigned songs and parts that are tailored to them based on their age, experience and ability to learn new skills and concepts. Students then work through their parts in weekly private music lessons, refining the skills and concepts that those songs introduce. The goal of this curriculum is to prepare kids and teens for live performances.

Toney Waldecker, along with Matt Almborg and Jim Thrift are the three original coaches of the Calvert MMA Academy. Toney Waldecker currently is the Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach for the MMA team at Kaizen MMA in Virginia. Professor Toney Waldecker also teaches Wednesday evenings at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Maryland in Clarksville, MD. Toney Waldecker began studying Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in the mid nineties and was promoted to Black Belt in April of 2008. In 2005, Toney Waldecker took silver at the Gracie Nationals as a brown belt in the open division. Recently, Toney Waldecker stepped up to the pro ranks, and he currently holds a 2-0 record. In a professional Muay Thai fight in Thailand, Toney won with an impressive knock-out victory, and in his MMA match, Toney submitted his opponent 45 seconds into the first round.

The tennis lights are on timer from when we return from Spring Break until the beginning of Thanksgiving Break. This is where we hold physical education tennis classes and UMBC Tennis Club team matches. The family of a Frenchman released after he had been jailed by Iran said on May 13 he was "relieved" to be back in France. On May 12, Benjamin Briere, whose ordeal in Iran lasted three years, and French-Irish citizen Bernard Phelan, held since October 2022, were freed from a prison in the northeastern city of Mashhad, the French Foreign Ministry said. There had been grave concerns about the health of the two men, both of whom had been on hunger strikes to protest their conditions. Briere, 37, was first detained while traveling in Iran in May 2020 and later sentenced to eight years in prison for espionage.

He’s played everything from heavy metal to the music of our ancestors. He’s been fortunate to study with  Dr. Bill Watson, Wes Crawford, and Dr. N. Scott Robinson. James teaches privately and is the drum and percussion instructor at The Saint James Academy in Monkton, Maryland and EMC in New Freedom, The Music Dept Recording Studio Pennsylvania. Among his many musical adventures, James has been the resident drummer at the Maryland Renaissance Festival since 1997 and is currently an accompanist for CCBC’s dance department. He is also a Remo Health Rhythms Drum Circle Facilitator and trained directly with The Remo Drum Company.

Wabanna Camp and Conference Center operates an eight-week summer camp for boys and girls ages 4-17, from mid-June to mid-August. The major functional areas for the Systems Analyst include business process analysis, systems management, integration development and testing, data management, and report writing. Degree in Fine Art and transferred to James Madison University where she received a B.F.A. in fine art. She became very interested in theater set design while there and applied to the School of Drama at Yale University to pursue this interest. Soon after her graduation from Yale, Dawn began designing sets for plays and musical productions in New York and has a very successful career. She has designed sets for Radio City Music Hall, the Tony Awards, Broadway and off Broadway theatre productions,as well as television and film projects.
