In 2010, the seventh centre to open under the umbrella of the Bayswater Child Care Association was the Maylands Out of School Care after a request from the Maylands Peninsula Primary School P&C. TeamKids – Bayswater South Primary has 60 approved places, representing approximately 0% of the total count for Team Holiday Pty Ltd. Great Beginnings Bayswater has 87 approved places, representing approximately 44% of the total count for Jacaranda Operations Pty Limited. Our centre is located next to the Colchester Medical Centre & opposite Colchester Nursery.
Silverwood Child Care Centre provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for children to explore, interact, learn and most of all, develop and encourage their own individual personalities. Parents are welcome to come alone, or with their children (children are more than welcome to engage with the other children and play while they wait). Parents / caregivers will be introduced to our friendly staff, shown the areas that we use and a given a general rundown of the service and an opportunity to ask any questions they have.
Play-based learning experiences are provided for older children who no longer don’t sleep in centre. Through structured learning experiences, our Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher and educators are committed to helping your child gain the necessary skills for a successful transition into school and beyond. Our Learning Journey Curriculum is designed to be emergent in nature and is guided by the children's interests and incorporates their voice in decision making of experiences provided in our indoor and outdoor environments. We run a fully accredited kindergarten program and have a local community connection to build strong relationships. Mayfield Early Education Bayswater provides high-quality childcare and kindergarten programs for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

We focus on building secure relationships between children and educators, closely following home routines, and supporting each child in meeting their developmental milestones. I began working in early childhood education in 2013, originally joining Great Beginnings Bayswater as a trainee. In 2026, I returned to Great Beginnings Bayswater as Centre Manager, which has been a meaningful full-circle moment in my career. I am deeply passionate about early childhood education and about supporting children in developing a strong foundation and a lifelong love of learning. Over the years, I have learned that every child learns in different ways, and that creating individualised learning experiences is essential to supporting each child’s growth.
Our centre, it’s educators and the outside community is proud of the inclusive curriculum provided to support families and children with additional needs. We provide a long day care (childcare) program for children between birth to 6 years at our Children and Family Centres. All services under one roof also means that your child's development can easily be supported from early age through to kindergarten without the need for repeat conversations between families and staff. Our Children and Family Centres in Bayswater and Wantirna South bring together long day care, kindergarten, maternal and child health services and playgroups in one location. It’s common for a child to experience separation anxiety when they first start child care.
We offer a play-based, educational program that is nurturing, inclusive, and individualised. As part of our commitment to school readiness, we deliver an Early Language Program through our funded Kindergarten, helping to build strong foundational communication skills. At Skole, our experienced teachers and staff help facilitate this period of learning, and that’s what separates us from traditional child care facilities. 'No Jab No Play' is the Victorian Government legislation requiring all children to be fully immunised before enrolling in any childcare and/or kindergarten in Victoria. In Victoria, 3 and 4-year-old children are able to access a funded kindergarten program led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. If eligible, your child will be able to participate in the Government-approved Kindergarten program, at no cost, up to a minimum of 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year.
